The D1 Grand Prix is the premiere series for professional drifting in Japan.

I helped bring the series to the US and Europe. I also ended becoming the official MC and technical announcer for the series. I hosted the Video Option tuning video series, did voice overs for US version, and wrote many of the scripts behind the scenes. Working with D1 expanded my network beyond belief and it also taught me confidence and technique when talking to a crowd of 20,000+ people.

I got to work with Tsuchiya Keiichi (Drift King,Dorikin), Inada Daijiro (Dai-chan) travel the world, meet and work with some of the most talented drivers/teams and it really was a dream come true. I was just blessed to be able to contribute to the whole series.

What did I learn?

I learned that there is a whole lot more to drifting than one would expect. The heart and soul of D1( and drifitng in general) lies with the mechanics, drivers, sponsors, fans and team members who chase their dreams and sacrifice everything to get out onto the asphalt.

Hat's off to them and to D1 for giving street racers a place to grow.

僕はアメリカを中心とした海外イベントすべてのMCとPR担当になっていました。

８時間以上の同時通訳実況中継から始まり、ニュース番組のインタビュー、PR、チームとメーカーコミュニケーション、ビデオの出演などいろいろな事をやっていました。本当にいい経験させてもらい心から感謝しています。 土屋圭一さんと稲田大二郎さんを始めとし、織戸学さん、鈴木学さん、D１選手達、チューニング界のトップドライバー、トップチューナー、とも一緒に働くことができました。夢が叶ったのです。

長年憧れていたビデオオプションにも出演でき、最初は取材を受け、いずれはアメリカ版のホストまで上りました！

趣味だけでいえば最高の結果ですね。

でも単純にドリフトが大好きだったからできました。 イベントで聞く生の迫力はやっぱりすごいですよ！
