The death of analog TV

Analog TV recently finished in Japan on July 24, 2011.

Everywhere except the quake stricken Miyagi, Iwate and Fukushima are all digital now.

They go digital in March 2012.

Here’s the analog character saying “I’m going north…”

In true Akiba form, stores in Akihabara held “funerals services” for analog broadcasting.

58years old and with so much potential…

People could pay a “donation” to pay their respects and burn some incense.

A bow here and there…

Formalities all conform to standard funeral protocol…

Complete with invitations and announcements.

200 people limit, take your receipt inside for details…

Good bye analog tv!

No wonder people think Japan is crazy
