The new Tokyo Sky Tree will open on May 22, 2012 but the expensive admission fees have everyone talking.

Admission to the first observation deck 350 meters high is 2000 yen for adults.(approx: $22)

Students are 1000 yen, elementary kids are 900 yen and babies are 600 yen.

Why not let the babies in for free…?

The second observation deck at 450 meters will cost 3000 yen total (approx $33)

That’s pretty expensive to hang out in a small area for like an hour max…

Residents in the area are complaining that these high prices will keep tourists away, thus hurting business…

You see, many people moved out to this area in hopes that the opening of the Sky Tree would boost tourism and help property values and business…

But not at these prices.

Tokyo Tower and Land Mark Tower in Yokohama are about half the price.

The Sky Tree  634 meters tall and in the final stages of construction.

It will be open from 8am-10 pm.

The overcharging begins May 22, 2012.

I may overpay at least once in my life to see it tho…
